In Oaxaca the snake or serpent is a powerful and sacred sybol in Zapotec and Mixtec tradition. It appears in the ancient carvings of Monte Alban and rather than a sign of danger, the snake is seen as a force of protection and balance between opposing forces, as e.g. sky and earth, light and darkness.- The Snake is produced in a small editions, each colour version limited to 35 pieces. The number is engraved on the back of the brooch.
